Amina (name changed to protect her privacy) fled her village during a wave of intercommunal violence in 2023, arriving in a displacement camp with her four children and almost nothing else.
Through HAPEI’s Peace & Dialogue Circles, she trained as a community mediator and now leads weekly dialogue sessions between returnee and host communities – work she says gave her back a sense of purpose, not just an income.
